MEDUSA
The Legend
Medusa is a new story based on an old story based on a myth based on that riddle that you read on the back of a rice crispies packet when you were late for school. Narrated by the somewhat dysfunctional Muses, we begin with a drag queen called Medusa. She works in a nightclub called Heaven in Soho which is owned by Zeus. This nightclub is the apex of where gods and humans mingle, no matter your shape, colour, identity, sexuality, all are welcome.
One night, Athena, an entitled bitch of a woman, sees her boyfriend, Poseidon, flirting with numerous girls climaxing with Medusa. Athena flies into a fury as she curses Medusa to be a gorgon. Little does she know, the one person that will make Medusa whole once more is on his first shift that night.
Perseus, after having witnessed this terrifying sight, gets accidentally drugged by Athena and dragged outside by a bunch of demons masquerading as men. Perseus is then raped. Medusa saves him by turning the demons to stone and takes the ironically stone-cold Perseus home to recover.
Later the next day Athena pays a visit to Arachne, Medusa's costume maker and best friend, whom is filming a muckbang, eating fried chicken. She enters her flat, slags her off and challenges her to the Hades Eve Ball wherein they must design five looks for the said ball for the prize title of; 'Seamstress of the gods'. This would make Arachne a demi-god and immortal and basically make Athena more popular. Arachne accepts and begins planning.
Athena then returns home to her mother who godes her until she finally decides to punish Medusa once and very finally, for all.
We are then left to wonder what events unfurl at the Hades Eve ball...

Different? How?
Well - can't tell you all the story now, can we! This musical is different for many reasons. To begin with, it will represent a multitude of cultures and the accumulation of these in one being. Next, it is written differently, the characters, story and resolutions are real and feel real. Next, the casting will be true blind casting, regardless of sexual preference, body shape, or sex (So long as you can sing the notes!). Finally (But not finally, there is obvs way more) there is more coming down the pipe line, just like marvel did with an extended universe, so too will Medusa. With hundreds of stories ready to be told, we will break down the walls of what musical theatre is, not only that but break the walls between film actors and musical actors.
There is so much time and money that needs to be put into a musical before it can even lift its feet off the floor. Bradley has done the best he can with an extremely limited budget, which is why we need your support! Come and be part of the new wave of musical theatre, written by new people for a new world!
